Day 1 - Chiang Mai to Doi Inthanon

Day 1 - After a relaxing first day of riding up to Doi Inthanon, we found that there are in fact cold places in Thailand :P Such amazing scenery and culture to see. After some heavy local traffic coming out of Chiang Mai we hit the open road and comfortably travelling at 100kph until we got to the Mountain Range. The Kawasaki's are quite in their element through some of this terrain, that however doesnt stop you being overtaken by 3 locals on a Scooter but thats all part of the fun. We ended up at the highest point in Thailand, Doi Inthanon (2550m abv Sea Level) and we visited the Thailand Neutron Detection device.

After a short stop we headed back down the mountain to our first night stop at the Inthanon Eco Hut. A small but cosy lodging with hot water and a western toilet.... ahhh lifes little luxuries :) We ate dinner next to the eco huts and have a lovely meal to end the day. Day 2 we will be heading back up to Doi Inthanon to get some photos during the morning and then heading to our next stop in or around Mae Hong Son near the Burmese border.
