So far for our upcoming trip we have raised $260 USD via our indiegogo campaign . We have also raised $55 by Auctioning off a donated second hand golf set. I will be repainting part of our work office and in turn they will be paying me $500 AUD for the job, meaning less paint costs this will be another $400 or so towards our fundraising efforts.
So with the above and other friends and family donations of cash, we have so far raised approx $780 AUD towards the cause.
We have about 4 months left before he head over and will be holding many events between now and then to raise further funds.
Roughly what we want to purchase for each book party:
- Approx 250 books for a school. (2 Basic Books per child and a collection of advanced learning books for the teachers and volunteers
- Uniforms (shirts) for the children as well as some stationary etc
- Electronic learning devices (potentially Tablet PCs or low cost computer and projector systems)
We would like to raise enough to host a book party for at least 2 schools in our time there this year as well as have books to take with us on our journey to give out to children and families.
