Only two days to go!

Wow, how quickly 2 weeks has passed :) With less than 2 days to go, with donations from many through our indiegogo campaign, as well as some new and old work colleagues (Thank you to our generous friends at Downer and FOXTEL (nee AUSTAR), we have raised almost $500 AUD. Your help will change the lives of many children giving them an opportunity they may otherwise not have had. Bloody good job folks!!

Below is the book order we have sent to our good friend Martin Momoda of Momobooks, none of this would be possible without the tireless efforts and dedication of this wonderful gentleman. This order will ensure the school we are visiting in Ban Nonghang, not far from Ban Namsanam in the Khammoune province of Laos. There are approx 120 students there so this order will ensure each child gets an ABC for Laos and Momosign book each to keep and help them begin their journey to understanding another language and a whole lot more! The remaining 160 of these two books will be given out to children along our journey. The school will also receive 2 copies of each of the other books for the teachers and volunteers to use to help take it to the next level. The other books  including English for health we will be looking to give to other villages and health care professionals we find.

Any left over or further money raised will of course be put to good use. We may even be able to buy a bicycle or two for the kids who have to walk long distances to and from school to help them on their way, anything is possible!

Thanks again for taking the time to read our blog and we look forward to sharing our exciting adventure with you all as we go. We promise to keep the blog up to date the whole trip this time round :)

Kind Regards, Chris Jilley and David Burrows

Only two weeks to go!

And so the preparations begin. The bikes are all prepared, serviced, new tyres and filters etc. Time to figure out what we can fit in our top boxes for the trip! :-)

Thankfully we will be purchasing the usual 2 dollar watertight storage containers from Vientiane to put the books etc in which will be strapped to the too boxes.

We have already raised over $300 towards our book order, thankyou so much for all the donations folks, we really appreciate it! Check out the previous post for details on how you can help support our cause.

And remember, "A thousand candles can be lit from the flame of just one candle,  without reducing the live of that candle. Happiness never decreases by being shared"

Bless you all, Chris and David :-)

Flights Booked and Bike Parts on Order :)

Hello again all,

We are back at it again, in just under a month we will be heading back to beautiful Thailand and Laos for another adventure. We would love for you to follow us on our journey so feel free to subscribe or follow this blog. If you are interested, there will be a link to allow you to help support us to purchase some education supplies to take to schools/villages along the way.

Our Flights are booked, first weeks accommodation arranged and we have some new suspension and a few other bits for the bikes. Can't wait to ride our CRF 250L's around over there again, they really are great bikes for the terrain and pace.

Big thanks again to our good friends Chris, Hasse and the Neighbour as well as our good friend who is looking after the bikes for us whilst we aren't around.

Only 27 days to go :D
