Days 6 to 9 - Return to Vientiane due to typhoon Haiyan

After we woke from a well appreciated rest, we were forced to consider our options because of the approaching typhoon.  At this time, it was predicted to pass right over where we were staying, so we unanimously decided it was perhaps best to pass up on the Ho Chi Minh trail riding, and head back to Vientiane where we were more likely to remain safe, and dry.

Mr Vongsamay, from the Sainamhai Resort, asked us if we could help him out with WiFi access, and do that we did.  He just happened to be in Vientiane at the same time we were, for a relative's wedding.  We purchased an inexpensive WiFi router from a computer store W&W Computer and a Huawei 3G modem, and Lao Tel sim card.  David set it up in the hotel room, where Mr Vongsamay met us early in the morning, on the way back to the resort.  There were smiles all round, and it feels good to be able to add one more reason, not that any more were needed, to stay at the Sainamhai Resort.  Now guests can more easily keep in touch with their families and friends during their stay.

We took the opportunity whilst in Vientiane, to purchase more Momo books which we picked up from the Black and White print shop.  409 of them this time.  Here is a photo of little Chris and Dave, with the books at the print shop.

We have posted a whole bunch of the books up north to Luang Prabang, so that we don't have to load our top boxes down too much when we head off on Wednesday.
