We started out with the intention to leave early for Ban Namsanam which is approx a 4.5hr ride from Vientiane. After messing with our luggage and a lengthy checkout we headed for the Sainamhai Resort in Ban Namsanam where we would be taking the first lot of books to the Ban Namsanam School.
The ride from Vientiane to Ban Namsanam was a long flat road most of the way which in the heat of the day does get quite fatiguing. After a number of stops we ended up at the Sainamhai resort at about 3pm.
The kids at Ban Namsanam school all waited patiently at the end of their school week for us to arrive with our friend Mr Vongsamay. We arrived an hour after the end of the school day however the kids were all still there :) Beaming smiles all around!
The book party was an amazing success and was the most amazing thing we have ever experienced. These children were so happy to see us and most of them have never owned a book of their own, EVER! Thanks to your help we have changed that and given these children some tools to help them develop and succeed! Well done team!
