Arrived Safely in Vientiane, however delayed :)

Sabaidee,

After a very long day heading from Udon Thani to Nong Khai, we arrived at the border at about 1 p.m. After many queues and getting all our documents to cross the border processed, we headed for Agl insurance to ensure we are covered on the road now. At the insurance office the lovely gentleman pointed out that customs had completed out paperwork incorrectly.... As the bikes were recently reregistered they had a new number plate. Unfortunately customs didn't notice this and completed the paperwork with the wrong licence plate.

Lesson learnt here is always check your border papers after they have been completed by the officials to ensure they havent stuffed up. If this hadn't need noticed then we would have had quite a time getting the bikes back to thailand.

Insured and legal we headed for our overnight stay in Vientiane at the Luexay hotel. Due to our late arrival we decided to spend an extra night in Vientiane so we could head for the printers in the morning to collect the books and sort out our book storage for the bikes.

After settling in at the hotel, we decided to head into town for dinner and drinks at Kop Jai Deu Restaurant on the main street. And feast we did!

After a huge dinner we headed back to the hotel to retire for the evening.
